Antepartum Care

Antepartum means “before birth”. Although everyone wants and dreams about the most blissful pregnancy, sometimes complications do arise. As a postpartum doula my specialty is taking care of YOU and your family, whether that’s while you are pregnant and preparing to bring your baby home or once your baby has arrived. If you are pregnant and need extra support due to a variety of factors, such as, preeclampsia, incompetent cervix, hyperemesis gravidarum, twins/triplets/or more, premature rupture of membranes, bed rest, anxiety, or even feeling overwhelmed with all of the things you need to accomplish before baby arrives, I can help you. I provide a non-judgemental ear to listen to your needs and an extra set of hands to help you to prepare for your baby’s birth and the postpartum period.

Some ways I, as a postpartum doula, can help you during the antepartum stage:

  • meal planning, grocery shopping, meal preparation

  • childcare coordination

  • light housekeeping

  • run errands

  • accompany you to appointments

  • sort, wash, fold and put away your laundry

  • referrals as needed to community or other resources

  • emotional and mental support adjusting to life transitions and new roles

  • help set up nursery

  • help prepare home and family for baby’s arrival

  • and much more
